Support for Youth and Communities:

If elected as School Board Trustee in District 43, Candace Knoll will focus on Support for Youth and Communities as a cornerstone of her role. With a commitment to student achievement and well-being, she will collaborate with the board, staff, and community partners to ensure students have the resources, guidance, and safe environments they need to thrive.

Promoting Mental Health and Academic Balance

Candace understands that student success is closely linked to mental health and a balanced approach to learning. As a trustee, she will advocate for initiatives that provide students with the mental health support they need, including access to counseling and stress management resources. Candace will advocate for the rebuilding of Hazel Trembath Schools which has displaced 260 Students for over a year. The daily commute and being bused out of catchment, causes additional stress, and pressure on the Students and their families. The impact of this disruption to the students, family and community, may take time to recognize. The students are missing out on music classes for example, they don’t have a playground an integral part of social and child development. Recognizing that academic overload can hinder students’ well-being, Candace is committed to working on policies and conditions that promote a manageable study load, allowing students to excel academically without sacrificing their mental and emotional health.

Upholding a Zero-Tolerance Policy for Bullying and Stereotyping

Candace is dedicated to creating safe and respectful learning environments across the district. She will support a zero-tolerance approach to bullying be in in person or on-line, peer pressure, and stereotyping behaviors, ensuring that every student feels protected and valued in their school community. By working with fellow board members to establish policies that reinforce inclusivity and respect, Candace aims to foster a culture where students are free to learn and grow without fear of harassment or discrimination.

Supporting Food Security and Quality Lunch Programs

Ensuring that students have access to nutritious meals is essential for their well-being and learning potential. Candace will advocate for quality lunch programs and support food security initiatives that guarantee all students have access to healthy food options. Recognizing that hunger can be a barrier to learning, she is committed to supporting programs that reduce food insecurity and promote overall student health, so no child’s ability to learn is impacted by lack of nourishment.

Addressing Before and After School Care Needs

In today’s busy world, many families depend on safe, reliable options for before- and after-school care. Candace is committed to advocating for programs that address these needs, providing students with a secure and supportive environment beyond regular school hours. Whether through extended care programs or extracurricular activities, Candace believes in giving students a space where they can continue learning, socializing, and growing, while giving peace of mind to working families.

Fostering a District-Wide Vision of Community Support

With a deep passion for public education and community well-being, Candace Knoll will work with the board to create a strategic plan that aligns district goals with budget priorities. Her commitment to supporting youth and communities across the district will guide her efforts to establish policies and programs that benefit all students. By focusing on these key areas, Candace aims to create a district where every student is supported, every family is heard, and the entire community benefits from a strong and inclusive education system.
